Our Story
Compelled by the beauty that surrounds us, we have crafted these spirits to bring those who drink them straight to the place that we all love. A true plough-to-bottle spirit with a taste of Padstow in every sip.
We are based in Cornwall, at the South West tip of the UK. Padstow is a popular tourist destination for a reason: the dramatic coastline, turquoise ocean and abundance of wild flora and fauna combined with a rich history, making this a enthralling and spectacularly beautiful place to live, work and visit.
Multi Award Winning Spirits
The quality of our Cornish spirits is second to none. We work with the finest local ingredients and make everything from scratch, sparing no expense in the process. This dedication has earned us numerous international awards, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze from the International World Spirits Competition (2024), and Double Gold, Gold, and Silver from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition two years running (2021-22).

Our founder David McWilliam has a wealth of knowledge in the drinks industry and an infectious passion for the discovery of new flavours. We made our first gin in 2019 before developing our original barley-based recipes Padstow Gin and Padstow Vodka. The story continues to unfold…
OUR SPIRIT
Padstow Gin is made from GNS (grain-based neutral spirit), not bought-in, but from 100% finest local Cornish barley, grown at Tregirls farm in Padstow. The barley fields overlook the Camel Estuary above the beach at St George’s Well, swept daily with the ocean breeze and covered in salty sea mist.
OUR BOTANICALS
Mixing tradition with our beautiful location, we blend juniper, citrus and pepper with local Alexanders, an ancient coastal plant full of green, iodine freshness. It is these that David still forages in spring from the cliffs above the beach on the western side of the estuary, giving our Original and Navy Strength gins their refreshing, coastal flavour.
OUR PROCESS
Our barley is milled, fermented and distilled in several stages to produce the softest base spirit possible. It is then infused with our unique selection of botanicals in our Padstow pot-still, then gently distilled to give a high-strength elixir before careful dilution to bottling strength with water from our local aquafer. We then assess it for consistency and quality before a light filtration and bottling.
OUR PROVENANCE
The barley at Gun Point grows all of a mile from the distillery and we harvest botanicals from the same spot; even our sloes for our autumn edition Sloe Gin are picked a mile along the same beach. A taste of Padstow in every sip!
Padstow Gin
Our original Padstow Gin® is distilled from the finest Padstow barley from Tregirls Farm, grown in the fields above St. George's Well on the Camel Estuary and infused with juniper, citrus, bay and the stems of alexander: a locally foraged plant.
Padstow Navy Gin
Inspired by the wild Atlantic winds and the power of the sea as it enters the Camel Estuary at Stepper Point. The local barley is swept by the ocean breezes, giving our gin its unique taste.
PADSTOW ROSE GIN
Combining the delicate spice of pink peppercorns with the decadent scent of roses. Our rose gin has been developed from the petals and hips of the Rosa Rugosa which grows wild along the footpaths above the beach at Hawkers Cove.
