Padstow Golden Cornish Rum 50cl

Distilled at South Quay in Padstow, our Golden Cornish Rum is built around careful blending and a deliberately gentle style of distillation.

Produced using both column and pot-distilled spirit, it combines the structure and freshness of lighter rum with the softer, deeper character that traditional pot distillation brings.

Recent batches have seen an even more selective approach in the still, with deeper cuts made during distillation to remove much of the brighter, younger character from the spirit. The result is a rounder, calmer and more refined rum, blended for softness and balance rather than overt sweetness or heaviness.

Although notes of Demerara sugar, orange peel and soft caramel appear naturally on the palate, the rum itself remains completely dry.

I particularly enjoy it neat, without ice, where the texture and blend can really speak for themselves. Though admittedly, it also makes a rather excellent Rum & Coke with a generous strip of orange zest.
