PADSTOW SLOE GIN 2025/6 - Batch #013

March 2026 update: we have just bottled our last batch of Sloe Gin for the season - at least until the autumn. There were just 28 x 70cl of the final run and a few miniatures which will soon be available in our new distillery.

David notes: “The late summer was warm in Padstow, so we picked our sloes early this year - all within a stone's throw of the sea along the Camel Estuary, before being steeped in an overproof version of our St George's Well recipe Padstow Gin. The high alcohol content during the steeping process works well, extracting the character of the sloes quickly and giving a richly fruity gin with notes of nutty almond, bright tartness and deep plum and cherry flavours.

At 40% vol, our Sloe Gin is excellent with tonic water - the simpler, the better - throwing in a few frozen blueberries for extra colour. Or try a little mixology with our Sloe Martini recipe:-

  • 50ml Sloe Gin
  • 50ml Cranberry Juice
  • Optional 1/4 fresh egg white or Stillabunt magic drops
  • A rose petal to decorate
  • Shake hard over ice and double strain into a chilled martini glass. What could be simpler, or more sublime!

Local Ingredients

All Padstow Gin is made using the finest local Cornish barley, grown at Tregirls farm in Padstow. The barley fields overlook the Camel Estuary above the beach at St George’s Well, swept daily by the ocean breeze. We mash, ferment and distil this spirit several times for the smoothest texture and delicate coastal flavour.

Unique Botanicals

We blend juniper, citrus and pepper with local Alexanders, an ancient coastal plant full of green, iodine freshness.

What Our Customers Think

We put our heart and soul into crafting a luxury spirit that invokes memories of the beautiful Cornish coast and countryside surrounding Padstow, so customer feedback is something we are always keen to receive.

Our Top 5 Negroni Recipes — Stirring Things Up for Negroni Week

Negroni Week is an annual celebration of one of the world’s most versatile cocktails, and at our Duke Street bar in Padstow, we’ve been shaking (or rather stirring) up plenty of inspiration. So I thought I'd share five of our favourite ways to mix a Negroni at home.

THE ULTIMATE RHUBARB MARTINI

After a season away, the Rhubarb Martini is back on the menu at 17 Duke Street. Just in time for Valentine's Day, this beautiful, long-drinking cocktail is all about flavour and balance.

The Spiced Orange Negroni

When made with our Spiced Cranberry & Orange Gin, this favourite amongst our Duke Street regulars takes on a roundness and depth that lands it firmly in the Autumn/Winter Cocktails category. I always think of this as a 'Halloween onwards' drink, and it definitely has a hint of the festive season about it...
